So, when I hadn't heard from the doctor again by 4:55, I called the office to make sure he was going to call me. The receptionist said he was with his last patient, and would call me after. At 5:35 I called again because I was still waiting to hear from him, and only got their answering message. So, I paged the doctor on call.
When he called, I said the tylenol wasn't enough, and needed something stronger. He said he'd prescribe me some vicodin (finally), but I shouldn't need it as it was five days after and the pain should be subsiding. I reiterated that I'd been told that the pain was only going to *increase*, and that I needed something stronger. I also got him to give me some sleeping pills, so maybe I can get more than 5 hours of sleep at night.
Why can't the fucking doctor's call when they say they're supposed to? Or is it the fault of the receptionists never giving him the message? Now we know where the disconnect in the health care industry is.
